Answers to your questions:

Commonly asked questions about the Ford Continued Service Plan (CSP).

Why Should I Consider Additional Coverage?

Because Ford CSP is the most comprehensive coverage available and the ONLY program that is backed by Ford Motor Company. Also, according to Experian Automotive, the average age of the 245 million vehicles registered in the U.S. in the first quarter of this year is now 11 years. In fact, 52 million cars and trucks in America are 16 years or older. As vehicles age, a vehicle service plan can be one of the smartest investments you can make!

Why can’t I just do most of the repairs myself?

Due to much improved technology and with the advent of computer modules, emissions controls, complex suspension, All Wheel Drive (AWD) and drive train technology, you need computer diagnostics and skilled Technicians to do the repairs.

If my vehicle should ever have a problem. How does Ford CSP help?

With Ford CSP you can take your vehicle to ANY Ford or Lincoln service center in the U.S. or Canada. Present your CSP card to the Service Advisor and the dealership will be paid directly for covered repairs. All you have to do is wait for the work to be done.

Is labor covered too?

Parts and labor are included for ALL covered repairs and are guaranteed.

Is my coverage renewable?

Unlike many warranty products, this plan is eligible for renewable up to the 12th model year or until your vehicle reaches 160,000 miles.

Do I have a yearly mileage restriction?

There is NO yearly mileage restriction, so you can drive as far as you like during the term of your Policy — up to the lifetime mileage cap of 160,000 total vehicle miles from the date of first registration of the vehicle.

About the deductible – is it charged on each item?

No. You only pay one deductible per occurrence. So if there are several covered repairs needed at the same time (and there often are), you still pay only the one deductible.

What is covered?

Hundreds of major system components in your vehicle are covered. This includes the engine, transmission, braking, steering and suspension. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions for coverage information and limitations.

Can I have additional non-covered maintenance work done to my vehicle while it’s in the shop?

Yes. You’re always able to add maintenance work for your vehicle while it’s in the shop, and pay for that on your own.

Can I use the Ford CSP for routine maintenance?

No. Our plan is for unexpected mechanical breakdowns, not day-to-day servicing of your vehicle. You must still have your vehicle serviced according to the manufacturer’s requirements to qualify for CSP. But if you want, you can do this service yourself — just log all receipts, odometer readings, dates of oil changes, tune-ups, etc.

I’m planning a trip to Canada. Does Ford CSP cover me there?

You’re covered all through the U.S. and Canada.

I may sell my vehicle during the year. Is it still worth getting Ford CSP?

Yes, for two reasons: (1) If you’re selling your vehicle privately, you can transfer your policy to the new owner at no cost. This may help get a quicker sale or higher price because potential buyers know that the vehicle has been properly serviced. Or (2) You can cancel and get a pro-rated refund for all the months that are left.

If I get Ford CSP now and then change my mind, can I get my money back?

If you cancel your coverage within the first 30 days and no claims have been paid, you get back 100% of your purchase price. If you cancel after 30 days or if a claim have been paid, we will refund a pro-rated amount of the purchase price.

Does my vehicle require an inspection before Ford CSP will cover it?

We will waive this requirement for you and NO inspection will be necessary. However, we do not cover pre-existing problems known or unknown.
